Admissions

Saint Joseph School gives preference to:
  • Registered parishioners of Saint Joseph Parish who currently have siblings in the school.
  • Registered parishioners of Saint Joseph Parish who currently have no siblings in the school.
  • Catholic students registered in parishes other than Saint Joseph Parish who currently have siblings in the school.
  • Catholic students registered in parishes other than Saint Joseph Parish who currently have no siblings in the school.
  • Non-Catholic Students


Saints Joseph School does maintain a waiting list which is kept for one academic year. Re-registration is required for the succeeding academic year.


Class Size
No class will exceed thirty students.

Registration Requirements
General:
The following items are required at the time of registration:

  1. Birth Certificate (copy for the school to keep)
  2. Baptism Certificate (copy for the school to keep)
  3. Immunization Records
  4. Non-refundable registration fee

Technical:

  1. Age: A birth certificate must be submitted for proof of age. The following is a listing of birth date guidelines
    • The Kindergarten child must be fire years of age on or before October 1.
    • The First Grade child must be six years of age on or before October 1.

    N.B.  The key date which controls age requirements is the date designed by the Bogota Board of Education.

  2. Immunization.
    • DTP: a minimum of four doses, one dose must have been administered on or after the fourth birthday
    • OP: a minims of three doses; provided at least one dose is given on or after the fourth birthday
    • Measles Vaccine: one dose live vaccine given on or after the first birthday. All children born on or after January 1, 1990 must have a second dose of measles vaccine before entering Kindergarten.
    • Rubella Vaccine: one dose on or after the first birthday; children immunized before the first birthday are to be re-immunized.
    • Mumps Vaccine: one dose on or after the first birthday; children immunized before the first birthday are to be reimmunized.
    • HIB: all children entering school must provide proof of HIB vaccinations appropriate to the child's age.
    • AN APPLICANT WHOSE IMMUNIZATION RECORD IS INCOMPLETE WILL NOT BE ADMITTED.
  3. Health Requirements: Saint Joseph School requires new students to have a complete physical exam before applying for admission to the school.
  4. Catholic applicants: A Baptismal Certificate and verification of reception of any additional sacrament(s) is required.
  5. Transfer Students: In addition to all of the above items, a transfer notification, a copy of the most recent report card, and a copy of standardized test results from the previous school are required.
    a) No transfers will be accepted during the final year before graduation
    b)No transfer will be accepted for any grade after the beginning of the second semester.

N.B.   Student registration is complete only after all resorts are received and the tuition contract is signed. All financial policies and obligations are contained in a separate tuition contract signed by each student's parent/guardian.


School Tuition

Tuition payments are due the 15th of each month from August 15 to May 15. Families will not be permitted to fall behind without specific authorization from the Pastor. The cooperation of all school families in keeping their tuition accounts current is expected. If unforeseen or extra-ordinary circumstances prevent timely tuition payments, please make an appointment with the Pastor to discuss your individual account. 

Tuition rates are announced annually.  All financial policies and obligations are described in the tuition contract which is signed yearly by parents/guardians.

FEDERAL/STATE FUNDED PROGRAMS

Students in Saint Joseph School benefit from several State and Federally Funded grants and programs which provide developmental academic services, examination and classification, transportation, textbook grant, Drug Free Schools Act, Title IV, Math and Science Grant, Title II, and Equipment, Title VI.
